Stair Protectors
Comprehensive and durable stair protection significantly reduces possible repair costs.
Durable protection for demanding construction-site use
Kiilax stair protectors are designed to protect the mosaic surfaces of precast concrete stair elements during construction. On construction sites, stairs are exposed to heavy wear, impacts and knocks, as well as water, snow, plaster, paint, dust and other dirt. The rigid plywood protectors safeguard the surfaces against both dirt and mechanical damage, significantly reducing repair work and costs at the final stage of the project. Plywood stair protectors are extremely durable and can be reused on stairs with matching element dimensions.
Safe and functional design. The rough wire-mesh surface provides good grip even when wet and improves occupational safety on the construction site. Padding on the underside lifts the protector slightly off the mosaic surface, creating an air gap that allows moisture and dust to move beneath it. The protectors are connected to one another at the top and bottom of the stair element, forming a sturdy and comprehensive protective system.
Precision-made and easy to install. The stair protectors are manufactured to match the dimensions of the stair element, making installation quick and reliable. Our standard stair protector fits straight stairs that are 1,200 mm wide with a step depth of 300 mm. It is also suitable for stairs with a step depth of 270 mm and a toe space/nosing of 20 mm. The step height may vary between 110 and 190 mm. Kiilax also manufactures protectors for spiral stairs and stairs with special dimensions.
