Responsible and carbon-neutral operations at Kiilax.

Sustainability at Kiilax

Responsibility in Every Decision

At Kiilax, sustainability is an essential part of our daily operations and long-term development. We support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on environmental responsibility, social well-being, and economic sustainability.

Well-being at Work | 3 & 5

We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace. We ensure good working conditions and encourage our employees to take care of their own well-being.

Clean and Affordable Energy | 7

We use only carbon-neutral electricity and district heating. In addition, all suitable wood-based production residue is recovered and used for district heating – ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Sustainable Consumption and Production | 12

We utilize raw materials efficiently and manufacture high-quality, long-life products for the construction industry. Our energy use is carefully monitored, and all waste is actively sorted and recycled.

Climate Action | 13

Since 2020, we have systematically reduced our climate impact. Our operations (Scope 1 & 2) are now practically carbon-neutral. The most significant future effort will focus on sustainable material sourcing (Scope 3), where local procurement and reliable partners play a key role.

Partnerships and Long-Term Collaboration | 17

We value long-term relationships with customers and partners. These trusted collaborations allow us to achieve better environmental and social outcomes together.

Carbon Footprint

With expert partner Green Carbon Oy, we have calculated our carbon balance three times since 2020. The results have guided us to greener energy solutions, reduced material loss, and improved awareness among staff.

Today, our operational emissions are close to zero
(Scope 1 & 2).

Going forward, we will focus on minimizing emissions from materials and upstream supply chains (Scope 3).

PEFC Certification

Kiilax holds a PEFC certification, ensuring traceable and responsibly sourced wood throughout the supply chain (Chain of Custody, CoC).. The PEFC label signifies that our wood materials come from sustainably managed forests.
